How to Survive Thanksgiving Dinner

Hello, folks. It’s that time of the year again when we all come together and enjoy the sweet smells of an autumn breeze. Pumpkin scented candles and that oh so wonderful turkey. Now you’re gathered at your mom’s house or someone’s girlfriend’s house because they didn’t want to cook this year for Thanksgiving, we’re here to tell you how to survive it.

Leave the Arguments at Home

What am I talking about? Surviving it? Thanksgiving dinner, the time right before Christmas when fights and arguments show their ugly little faces. Liking to show up one last time before we all pretend like they never happened.Right before we give out Christmas gifts to the people that we totally disrespected just a few weeks prior. Yes… Yes… Thanksgiving dinner. Lovely…So lovely.

Laugh and be Joyful

Maybe your family and friends have a beautiful Thanksgivings filled with joyful and lustrous laughs and bubbly pop gummy drops. However, in the real world, stuff goes down! We at Grassdoor understand that not all of us are so peachy like the perfect family. So we decided to help you with the few survival tips so that your turkey day goes off without a hitch.

Tip #1: Be Cheerful

I’m going to start off with the most obvious one, because why not? Tip number one, be cheerful. Before you arrive to whoever’s house is throwing the shindig. Be cheerful. There are people out there right now who are in positions way worse than you are now. Consider the homeless and those less fortunate and appreciate what you’ve got going on right now.

Tip #2: Share

Now, is your chance to share with your friends and family. My mother always told me to bring something to a dinner party. It doesn’t matter if it’s something simple, like a box of donuts, or something super fancy Like stuffed cream cheese croissants. Bring something to share. It sets the mood for a much happier feast.

Tip #3: Don’t Bring Up Politics

Tip number three. Don’t bring up politics. when it comes to politics, Thanksgiving is not the time or place for any controversial discussion. You know how you’re supposed to avoid talking about religion and politics in polite company? Well, this is the time when they should be avoided even more than usual. Don’t mention the last presidential elections.

Tip#4: Don’t Drink Too Much

Don’t get drunk. Don’t make an ass of yourself. Don’t get drunk and make an of yourself. Especially at Thanksgiving dinner.

Tip#5: Keep Everyone Happy & Fed

Keep everyone happy and fed and you’ll be fine. If you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year, then you know that keeping everyone happy and fed is the most important thing. The trick is to make sure that if you have a guest who doesn’t like your stuffing recipe that they still have something to eat. As long as you have food anda few family members who are stoners people will eat what’s in front of them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that these tips have given you some insight on hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, or at least surviving one. I know it can be hard to keep everyone happy, but if you follow these tips you should be in a good spot. Enjoy yourself and try not to stress out. And like always, with all that being said, I hope you enjoyed today’s segment. I’m your boy, David, hitting you up from the Grassdoor headquarters saying, I’ll catch you guys later.
