Today we’re talking about the top five most influential people in cannabis history. In no particular order, We’re starting off with number one, Jack Herer.

Jack Herer

Jack Herer is a legend in the cannabis world, and many would say he’s also one of the most influential people in cannabis history. He was an American hemp activist and author who dedicated his life to legalizing marijuana through activism and political campaigning. He dedicated his life to this cause, and it’s because of him that we have the hemp industry today. If not for him, we might still be living in an age where marijuana was illegal and only available through black market channels.

Tommy Chong

Number two, Tommy Chong. Tommy Chong is a Canadian-American comedian, actor, writer and musician. He’s best known for his skits in Cheech and Chong, which he wrote with Cheech Marin. The duo became famous for their stand up comedy routines about stoner culture and the hippie subculture of the 1970s. In 2003, Chong was arrested for selling bongs as a part of a federal drug enforcement operation targeting the sales of cannabis related utilities.

He was sentenced to nine months in prison for his involvement in the sales, but became a symbol of resistance against the war on drugs. Following his release from prison, Chong became an even more vocal advocate for the legalization of marijuana. He has spoken out about the medical benefits of cannabis and the importance of ending the criminalization of marijuana use.

Brownie Mary

Number three, Brownie Mary. Brownie Mary was a nurse who became famous for her efforts to promote the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes while the AIDS epidemic was roaring in the 1980s. Brownie Mary became known for distributing special brownies to AIDS patients. She was a strong advocate for the legalization of marijuana as she worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the drug’s benefits for those suffering from various medical conditions.

Her activism and distribution of medical brownies made her a legendary figure in the world of cannabis and also became a symbol of resistance.

Stephen D’Angelo

Number four, Stephen D’Angelo. With a career spanning over three decades, Stephen D’Angelo has been a vocal advocate for the medicinal benefits of cannabis and has worked tirelessly to make it accessible to those in need. D’Angelo’s journey in the world of cannabis began in the 1980s, when he was working as a cannabis activist and caregiver in San Francisco.

His passion for the plant led him to create Harborside Health Center, which has since become one of the most successful medical cannabis dispensary in the country. D’Angelo’s work as an activist and advocate for cannabis use has been recognized with numerous awards, including being named one of Time magazine 100 Most Influential People in 2009.

Keith Stroup

Number five, Keith Stroup, founder of the National Organization of the Reform of Marijuana Laws NORML. In the 1970s, Stroup is considered one of the most influential figures in cannabis law reform. He began his career as a lawyer and became a public defender before turning his attention to marijuana. KEITH And normal mission is to provide a voice for responsible marijuana smokers and to educate the public about the benefits of cannabis. The organization works to change public attitudes and policies towards cannabis and to provide legal and political support for those who use cannabis for medicinal or recreational purposes.

There are many more

Of course, there are more people to be added to this list. I mean a ton, but I want it to zone in and focus on those individuals who have made enormous leaps in the cannabis world and community as a whole. And sometimes people take for granted because like I stated before, we currently are in a time where cannabis is almost so widely accepted that we don’t even think about these people at all.
