14% of the country has found their way to CBD usage since federal legalization last year.
A study has revealed that as many as one in seven Americans regularly use CBD products. This marks a notable increase since a federal law last year which legalized this hemp component of cannabis.

Who in the US is using CBD?
The report found that younger US people and people in the west of the country are more likely to have tried CBD which are heralded for their therapeutic benefits.
The FDA is still researching CBD and many states are still blocking access. Gallup’s June 19-July 12 polling found that “while 14% of U.S. adults are using CBD products, 50% do not use them and 35% are not at all familiar with them.”
The report pointed out that “twenty percent of adults younger than 30 say they use CBD, but usage and familiarity decrease progressively in older age groups. Just 8% of those aged 65 and older say they use CBD, and 49% are not familiar with it.”
Geographically, 21% US residents in the west of the country use CBD products, while 13% in the South has used CBD, and only 11% in both the East and Midwest. The study points out that this difference is in part due to the amount of time CBD products have been legal in certain states. The western portion of the country has enjoyed legal cannabis for longer than the Midwest and the East.
