Uvas Canyon County Park
With a total area of 1,134 acres and sprinkled with trails and waterfalls, Uvas Canyon County Park is one of the largest parks near Morgan Hill. Henry W. Coe State Park
Known to the locals as the Orestimba wilderness, this 89,163-acre park was established in 1959 and is one of the largest state parks in Northern California. The park is also mountain bike-friendly, and only a few miles of trail are off-limits for mountain biking. Coyote Creek
With its source on Mt. Sizer, east of Morgan Hill, Coyote Creek is a 63-mile winding river that empties into the San Francisco bay. Impounded by two reservoirs, Anderson lake, and Coyote reservoir, it feeds some of the most significant lakes in the Santa Clara Valley basin.
Anderson Lake
Also known as the Anderson reservoir, it was created in 1950 by the construction of the Anderson dam. The lake is named after Leroy Anderson, a founder and the first president of the Santa Clara Valley water district. The reservoir is also the largest one owned by the district. Due to the abundance of parks found nearby, this is often a spot many come to enjoy a picnic or relax near the lake.
